Timothy V. Kassouni is a senior attorney with The Zumbrun Law Firm. He has over 15 years of civil litigation experience, with an emphasis on land use, real estate, and construction litigation. While as a Loyola Law School student, Mr. Kassouni completed a judicial externship with Justice David N. Eagleson of the California Supreme Court and was President of the Loyola Law School Federalist Society. Mr. Kassouni later received the first Fritz B. Burns Foundation public interest fellowship with the Pacific Legal Foundation, where he served from 1989-1991. While at Pacific Legal Foundation, he argued before the California Supreme Court on vested rights issues and also submitted briefs before the United States Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on various constitutional property rights issues. Mr. Kassouni served as a temporary Deputy District Attorney with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office in 1991, and subsequently practiced complex land use, real estate, and construction litigation with firms in Orange and Sacramento Counties . His law review article, "The Ripeness Doctrine and the Judicial Relegation of Constitutionally Protected Property Rights," was published by the California Western Law Review in 1992 and has been cited numerous times by scholars in the land use field. Mr. Kassouni graduated from Loyola Law School in 1989 and the University of California at Berkeley in 1985 with an A.B. in philosophy. He enjoys living in Fair Oaks with his wife, Amy, and his children Alexander and Frances, and is an avid music and film enthusiast.
